A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.
These detentions come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was among the those hurt in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and were later released.
Officers detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Authorities were alerted at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.
The attack - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility briefly.
